With enough investment you can push further but you will leave passing an emissions test behind and will do some serious damage on your VISA account.Īctually a 383 kit has about the most bang for the dollar it allows the cam to stay fairly mild while really punching up the torque. You can go further with a little more cam, larger capacity injectors (90lb/hr), and larger throttle body unit (670 cfm), installing a 383 kit, but any to all of these will require taking a can opener to the computer but this can get you to about 330 hp. ![]() This limits you to about the installtion of headers with dual exhausts, the replacement of the cam with something very close to the old 300 horse 327 cam, and the use 1.6:1 rockers. It can develop about a 10% fudge that is used to modify the original MAP in areas that aren't matching. That function is a test the existing system performs by comparing the original MAP mixture values with those of the O2 sensor for a set of conditions. Unless you're willing to get into chip replacement or external programs you're limited to what the LEARN function can accomodate. ![]() ![]() Without breaking the bank you're rather limited. ![]()
